I hope one day
someone intoxicates you,
I hope they make your skin burn with just a look a touch
make your veins flame right through,
I hope this person you feel
can you have never,
And that it doesn’t matter the years
you always feel about them forever,
I hope their voice
tips your balance inside,
So your grip on normality
momentarily goes on the slide,
I hope their smell makes you weak
their words the power to break your heart,
And above all
above all….
I hope they realise the effect
they have on you,
And that they fall so deeply
in love with you to….

Is this a poem about finding love or a revenge poem so the other person finds love but it just outside their reach? I find some of the stanzas conflicting.
Honestly I don’t know…. its just the jumbled thoughts inside tripping over themselves and falling on to the paper. I’m not the kind of person that goes in for revengeful and I’d rather wish someone found love and had that love back in return than spent their life alone….
I understand. I suppose that is the fun of interpretation. I wasn’t sure which idea you were attempting to convey.
The person I had/have on my mind when I wrote/read it? I wish them eternal love and happiness. But yes, how you interpret whats written is for you to decide…. Hopefully you liked reading it?
I did enjoy it. I found it very abstract, which I enjoy in poetry. The writing seemed conflicted though, almost like breaking up with someone or going through a divorce, where your emotions run a gambit. I came away with that sense. That’s why I wanted to reach out to see what your intentions where and how they, perhaps, differed from my interpretation.
I write lots of different poems/thoughts, not all like this. I’m happy you liked it and more happy you commented. Thank you. 🙂
Sure! Thank you for having me! I understand what you are saying. Inspiration for writing can come in all forms. I think some of the strongest emotions can be the impetus for great writing!
Nemesis, I hope this doesn’t come off as pretentious, but I wanted to share with you a piece from my blog that gives some background on why I started writing and the style that I developed and why it came to fruition in that manner. I am not usually in the habit of directly posting pieces from my blog on to others but I thought it would be something that might give you some insight and perhaps inspiration in your own writings.

I commented on it. Sorry it took so long 🙂
No worries. Thank you for taking the time to read it. I’m honored. 🙂
