Saw you rushing
for the train,
That’s how we met
in the pouring rain,
Both of us reaching
for the door,
Both excusably polite
and totally unsure,
You, you were
the truest gent,
Said ladies first
so in I went,
I reached out touched your suit
said thank you,
You touched my arm
said your welcome too,
I choose a seat
nearest the door,
You carried on walking down the isle
whilst looking at the floor,
And so we went
our separate ways,
Noticed you looked for me
in the following days,
I always smile
as I look at you,
And as you ask how I am
I see your smiling too….

Thank you for such a momentous poem…. I have had one rolling in my head and was just coming to try to let it out and saw this poem. I hope you don’t mind if I tag this at the start of my post, as kind of a contrast, for mine was on the loss of a friendship. Keep up the great work, you inspire me to be better. Charles
Wow thank you for a beautiful comment.
Happy hugs your way.x.
I’ve only got to read a few of your poems so far. I’ve said it once and i’ll keep saying it every time I read good poetry. I just don’t understand how you can paint such a full picture in so few words. It would take me pages to describe the scene and the emotions in it, and i feel i still couldn’t capture it the way you did. I liked it alot!
Hi, Thank you for a wonderful comment! As for writing a poem, I’ve often wondered at the thought put in to it….It’s kinda strange as when I write I just pour the words out I have never been able to describe it. I have had a look at your page and I admit I feel the same, just like a kid with a new toy when I update my phone!
Happy hugs your way and may you have a fantastic weekend.x.
🙂
Thanks you too!
